Principal's Letter

Welcome to Dartmouth Middle School!

Whether you’re new or returning to our school, one thing is for sure...the 20-21 school year will be a new adventure for us all! We are thankful that you chose Dartmouth to be the middle school for your family. Our teachers and staff have been working relentlessly to prepare for Online Instruction and are doing their best to ensure that this experience is positive. At Dartmouth, we see challenges as opportunity and we are excited to take this opportunity to re-imagine some of the typical experiences at middle school and digitize them. It is important to us to help your child grow, not only instructionally, but socially and emotionally as well. We are proud to continue to offer social-emotional supports and assistance through our Counselors, Intervention Specialist, teachers and support staff!

As we embark on the new school year, I encourage you to connect with us!

The partnership between home and school has always been important, however, as we begin this Online Learning journey together, it is more important than ever. Here are some tips to help support your child:

Create a learning space- this could be the kitchen table or a desk

Make a schedule and stick to it (as much as possible) students thrive on routine (even if they complain!)

Reduce distractions (turn TV off, take phone away)

Encourage your child to get outside and exercise between sessions

Get connected with your child's teachers! Start with the areas/subjects you anticipate your child struggling the most with.

None of us have encountered a situation such as COVID-19 before, however, we will get through it together. Thank you for supporting our school and staff as we work to support your child.
