Principal's Letter

 Welcome to Dartmouth Middle School!

Whether you’re returning or brand new to the school, I would like to welcome you to the DMS family! Middle School is an exciting time! Students experience new schedules, are introduced to different peers, and are beginning to take ownership over their educational journey. This is a great opportunity for students to explore their interests through getting involved in an elective or club! Dartmouth is committed to providing meaningful teaching and learning opportunities, offering academic, behavioral and social emotional support to students, and creating a school-wide climate and culture that emphasizes critical thinking, collaboration and college/career readiness.

As we embark on the 2018-19 school year, I encourage you to connect with the DMS community!

In order to be successful in school, We look forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure each child can achieve their highest potential. We recognize that in order to be successful in school, our children need support from both the home and school.

We ask that you guide and support your child’s learning by ensuring that he/she: 1) Attends school daily and arrives on time, ready for the day’s learning experience 2) Completes all homework assignments given by teachers 3) Reads daily to develop a love for reading and to improve literacy skills 4) Shares school experiences with you so that you are aware of his/her school life 5) Informs you if he/she needs additional support in any area 6) Knows that you expect and support him/her to succeed in school.

Our theme for the 2018-19 school year is “Awaken the Greatness Within”. Your children come to us with unique talents, interests and capabilities. It is our goal as educators to equip them with the knowledge they need in order to prepare for College and Career in the future. It is also our goal to help cultivate the skills and talents they already have and teach them how to utilize their strengths to awaken the greatness within. Thank you for trusting us with your treasures! We look forward to a GREAT year ahead!

Respectfully,

Kristen Anderson, Principal, Amber Farmer, Assistant Principal & Greg White, Assistant Principal
