Principal's Letter

Dear Dartmouth students, families and community members,

As site principal, it is my responsibility to lead the institution with integrity and respect, as we prepare our students for high school, college and careers of the future. It is my expectation that all students will academically and socially succeed by setting personal goals and objectives and using a growth mindset to achieve success. This success will only come to fruition with the support and involvement of our parents and community members. It truly takes a village to raise children...and maybe even a little more to make them successful, respectful citizens ready for college & career of tomorrow! I highly encourage our parents, friends, and community members of Dartmouth to get informed, get involved and build relationships with our staff.

Dartmouth offers an incredible learning environment and numerous electives for our students, from AVID and computers to sports and band & chorus. Students will be held to the highest of academic standards, as outlined in California's newest "Common Core" State Standards. Moreover, everyone on campus will be expected to follow our code of conduct of being respectful, responsible, and safe, as we teach explicit social skills to be successful with these expectations. Both academic and social skills will assist our students in improving academic performance and creating and sustaining meaningful relationships, necessary for life well-after they leave our school.

I welcome our new and returning families to Dartmouth! Please check our school website or stop by the school to inquire about opportunities to get involved and learn more about Dartmouth Middle School. I personally look forward to meeting and working alongside our students, parents, and community members of Dartmouth this year.

Mrs. Jennifer Martin, Principal
