Description
Hello!  Welcome to Room 301!  
This year, I will not be assigning homework.  Instead, children will be allowed to take home work that was unfinished in class, as well as time on Compass Learning.  The time spent, and performance will be a part of your student's grade.
Each student has a Compass Learning username and password.  They are allowed to work on this work during the school day as well as at home.  
 
Please don't forget to check your student's planner on a daily basis.  It is a part of their grade as well.
 
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me via note or email and I will get back to you as quickly as possible.  I know that working together, we can you help your student have an enjoyable and productive school year.  Thank you for letting me work with your student

PS:  I know it can be hard to remember how to do different types of math problems, so attached is a workbook that gives instructions on how to solve math problems.

Thanksgiving Break 
 
The Smith family is getting ready for Thanksgiving.  In the family are Mr. Smith, Mrs. Smith, Sally Smith, and Shawn Smith. Auntie Gloria and Uncle Girard will also be coming.  They are bringing their daughters Glenda and Gertie.  
 
Your assignment:
Create a holiday menu.  
Decide how much of each item you will need to purchase.
Calculate the total cost.
 
Your menu must include 1 main dish, 2 side dishes, and 1 dessert.
Don't forget to check serving sizes if using packaged food.
If you're making everything from scratch, you might need to double your recipes.
