Description
Welcome to Room 301!  This year, the students will not have any designated homework.  They will be allowed to work on assignments that didn't get finished in class at home.  They each have a set of assignments to complete on Compass Learning as well.  These assignments can be completed at home or at school.  Time spent on Compass will impact the student's grade. 
 
The Simply Math Workbook attached is for your use.  It provides explanations of how to solve different types of math problems.  As a parent, it can be difficult to remember exactly how to solve problems if we don't do it everyday.
 
Also, your child has access to 4 different computer programs to help build up math skills.  Those programs are: Compass Learning, ST Math, Prodigy,  and Khan Academy.

Thanksgiving Break
 
Amber, Abby, and their parents Andrew, and Alma are trying to decide where to have Thanksgiving.
Andrew says they should eat out . There's a buffet place that will charge $10 for adults and $5 for kids.  And, he keeps repeating, it's all you can eat.
 
Alma says that she will cook the dinner.  She says that it will be cheaper.  She already has 2 cans of green beans,2  yams, 1 bag of marshmallows, 1 box of brown sugar, and a ham.
